She's Fabulous...
[Character Name] Madoka Sasaki
[Age] 16
[Gender] Female
[Sexual Orientation] Heterosexual.

[Eye Color] Red.
[Hair Color] Waist-length, black, normally worn loose.
[Height] 5' (152 cms).
[Other] Petite build, noticeably pretty.
[Clothing] Madoka is often seen in a red-and-black private-school uniform that she finds cute enough to wear outside of school hours. She doesn't like wearing jeans or pants, but will make an exception for capris. She dresses to show off her legs, but is self-conscious about her small bust. Madoka keeps up with fashion trends: her casual wardrobe is simple but clearly expensive, and entirely designer. At formal events and celebrations, she occasionally wears traditional clothes.

[Background]
Born and raised in Nezu, Tokyo, Madoka is the second child and only daughter of wealthy parents, and is younger than her brother by a good nine years. The age gap pretty much precluded her ever feeling close to him. Her father runs a large and prosperous architectural company and her mother is technically a housewife, though the amount of work she does in the home is minimal. Madoka has been raised to expect much the same sort of life for herself - from a very early age she's been aware that her parents' hopes for her start and finish with the expectation she will make a suitably advantageous marriage.
Madoka's life has so far run smoothly, something that is down in no small part to her father's wealth and her mother's social connections. She has been attending a private, all-girls 'elevator school' since the age of five and is one of the best students in her year. She is considered popular, for all she's not exactly well-liked with it. She is in the kyudo club and has been representing her school in archery competitions since her early teens. Her brother recently became engaged to a girl from a good family, though he doesn't seem particularly enthusiastic about the prospect. Madoka is aware that once she finishes high school her family are probably going to start trying to find a promising match for her, and though she's accepted this she doesn't care to think about it just yet.

[Personality]
Around her family, Madoka plays the part of the Yamato Nadeshiko - she's graceful, demure and tolerant, and keeps herself to herself. They simply don't believe the reports they get, when they can be troubled to ask, from her schoolteachers about her behavior at school. They're more concerned with her ability to bring home good grades, and Madoka has never once let them down in that regard. She believes in the importance of conformity to social norms, and though she is hyper-competitive and driven to excel she has no desire to do so outside of the framework society imposes upon her. She is extremely scornful of nonconformists, believing them to be disruptive attention-seekers who can't think of any other way to get people to notice them.
Madoka doesn't like other people much and sees most of them as beneath her, though she understands it's much more socially appropriate to pretend to be friendly. She is a manipulative girl, and has no sympathy for anyone stupid enough to fall for it. Her popularity at school is partly due to the undeniable perks that come with being her friend, partly thanks to her eye for hidden advantage and the fact that nobody with any sense would want someone as spiteful and vindictive as her as an enemy. She has no qualms about hurting people's feelings or spreading malicious gossip if she thinks there's something in it for her - though she's learned that the most effective way to wound people is telling inconvenient truths. A realist, Madoka has no time for self-delusion or self-pity and doesn't believe that anyone else should waste their time on them either. The way Madoka sees it, if she tells you you can't sing and should stop wasting your time on trying, she's doing you a favor.

[Specialties/Abilities]
An intelligent girl, Madoka is considered one of the best students in her year and is on course to enter a good university. Accomplished in the traditional sense of the word, she has studied calligraphy and dance since childhood and began taking piano lessons at the age of six, but though she is a sensitive musician she lacks the creative impulse and is quite content to play other people's compositions. She has never learned to cook: it was always expected that there would be someone around to do it for her. Like her brother she has learned a martial art - Madoka is a skilled archer and has been representing her school in competition for some years.

[Affection]
Madoka has never been a very affectionate person and is often stiff and unresponsive to contact. She is heterosexual, but is at present a lot more physically comfortable around women. She doesn't really like to be touched by men, certainly not by strangers, and responds awkwardly and hesitantly to physical intimacy. Madoka had her first boyfriend when she was fifteen, but the relationship didn't progress very far. She's not really sure what all the fuss is about sex and sees it as an embarrassing distraction.

[Fighting]
Not something she cares for. In a close-quarters, hand-to-hand fight Madoka has got no practical chance of fighting off an assault. She's physically capable of defending herself using a bow, but mentally would have difficulty attacking another living thing, never mind another person. Though she can fight, Madoka would far rather stand back and let other people handle it than take the risk of getting hurt herself.
